How Leaderboards Work in FivLet
FivLet has three separate leaderboards — daily, weekly, and monthly — each tracking wins across different time windows. If you're a FivLet Premium member with a username set, your wins automatically count toward all three. Here's everything you need to know about how the system works.
Who can appear on leaderboards?
Leaderboard access is exclusive to FivLet Premium members who have set a username. Both conditions must be met. You need Premium for unlimited plays and leaderboard tracking, and you need a username so other players can identify you on the board. If you're signed in but haven't set a username, go to your account settings and choose one — it only takes a second, and you can't climb the leaderboard without it.

How wins are counted
Every time you correctly guess the word in four tries or fewer, it counts as a win. Wins are automatically recorded to your daily, weekly, and monthly totals simultaneously. There's no extra step required — just play, win, and your count goes up. If you play twenty games and win fifteen of them, your leaderboard total reflects those fifteen wins.
There's no penalty for losses. Only wins count. This means the best strategy for climbing the leaderboard is simply to play as many games as possible and win as many as you can — consistency over perfection.
Daily leaderboard
The daily leaderboard tracks wins from midnight UTC to midnight UTC. It resets every single day at midnight. This is the most competitive board because the window is short and everyone starts from zero each day. To consistently place on the daily leaderboard you need to play multiple games every day and win most of them. It rewards dedicated daily players more than casual ones.
Weekly leaderboard
The weekly leaderboard accumulates wins from Monday through Sunday UTC. It resets every Monday at midnight UTC. This board rewards players who are active throughout the week rather than just one or two days. A strong Monday through Wednesday can give you a cushion heading into the weekend, but a cold streak later in the week can undo early gains if competitors are playing more consistently.
Monthly leaderboard
The monthly leaderboard runs from the 1st of the month to the last day, resetting on the 1st of each new month at midnight UTC. This is the longest window and the one where truly dedicated players separate from occasional ones. Monthly totals can reach into the hundreds for the most active players. If you want to compete seriously for monthly rankings, playing every day matters more than playing exceptionally on any single day.
Strategy for climbing the rankings
The most straightforward path to the top of any leaderboard is volume and consistency. Play every day. Win as many games as you can. Don't burn your guesses — use the clue, use your letter tracking, and use hints when you genuinely need them rather than guessing wildly. A 75% win rate across thirty games beats a 100% win rate across ten games every time on these boards.
If you're specifically chasing the daily leaderboard, front-loading your play in the morning means any wins you rack up are sitting on the board all day while competitors are still working their way up. There's a psychological advantage to setting an early total that others have to beat.
Viewing the leaderboard
The leaderboard is accessible from the nav bar on any page — just click Leaderboard. You can tab between Daily, Weekly, and Monthly views. The top 20 players for each period are displayed. Rankings update in real time as wins are recorded, so the board you see right now reflects the current standings.
